Redefining success with a life-first approach, setting clear boundaries, and building a business that supports what matters most.
If you’ve been here for a while, you know I do business a little differently.
Most people live their lives with the time and energy left after working on their businesses.
I don’t do that.
I start by getting clear on what I’m trying to cultivate in my life.
Only then, do I set business goals – and when I do, they come with very clear parameters about how I’m willing to achieve them.
These conditions not only support that bigger picture life vision, but also take into account my season of life, capacity and what my day-to-day looks like; not just when things are operating perfectly or when I’m 100% motivated, but what things actually look like on an average day.
Because when you create clear parameters from the onset, you’ll never be surprised or disappointed by the path your business takes you.
Right now, I have two young kids.
I also have friends, family and a community I want to invest in.
I want space for myself and the time to pour into interests and hobbies that have nothing to do with work or making money.
I also suffer from anxiety, which I’m largely able to manage through a combination of medication and lifestyle stuff, but I do have flare ups that are often unpredictable.
All of this to say that life is full, sweet and unpredictable but I’ve set my business up in a way that works in harmony with all of it.
And that means I never feel like I have to squeeze myself into a dynamic that doesn’t actually work for me; nor am I put in a situation where I feel shame for needing to shift things around or slow down when I need to.
How have I done this?
By keeping things tight, streamlined and scalable.
Instead of pursuing all of the things I could do, my MO is refinement and focus.
I have one core offer.
And while I may create smaller marketing initiatives, all roads ultimately lead there.
We’ve built a really streamlined customer journey on the back end that’s tight and offers my community exactly what they need next as they move along the intentional success path we’ve created.
Because I have one core offer, I have a lot of space and capacity to make minor tweaks and improvements that yield big ROIs without heavy lifting.
Most things are automated and we’ve built a bank of assets that we can repurpose because they’re proven to convert.
And instead of feeling spread thin on social media, over this past year I’ve decided to focus on either driving more people to my best work versus creating more things; or am working on more sustainable traffic sources that work for us now and long-term.
Nothing is random and everything connects and builds on one another.
And honestly that’s a big piece when it comes to scaling in a life-first way.
It’s about creating less and building those things, versus going wide and constantly reinventing the wheel.
And creating assets that do the heavy lifting so that things can operate with or without you, not so that you’re not involved, but rather that you have the ability to choose the extent of that involvement on any given day.
Inside of private coaching, we create limitations on your working hours to shift towards using higher level thinking to grow your businesses rather than simply having you work more hours to make it happen.
Because if you decide that you’re only working 20hrs a week for example, and are committed to finishing your days on time while hitting a certain revenue level in your business, it challenges you to become incredibly clear on the needle drivers you need to safeguard to maximize the time that you are working.
That positive time constraint is what allows you to solve problems with your brain, and not your time.
This is what we do inside private coaching.
- We get clear on how your business fits into what you want to cultivate.
- We establish clear and tangible growth goals in your business and the parameters that we’re working within.
- Next, we establish your needle drivers and priorities as part of your growth plan.
- We focus on high leverage, high impact projects that you can go deep with and therefore have more time to work at a natural pace, enjoy the journey of what you’re building and have buffer time to tweak and adjust if things come up.
- We make all of the important decisions up front, so that you can maximize your working hours creating outcomes and have a sense of completeness at the end of your work day and actually switch off.
Ultimately, you’re not working harder; you are getting better because you’re learning how to produce more value with less time and energy.
You unlearn overworking or creating more stuff as your default solution to generating more income and begin working smarter, more strategically.
If this is the kind of work you want to be doing, I’d love to support you inside private coaching.
